��✝️ Lent & Holy Week 2026 Offering Update ✝️��

Throughout Lent and Holy Week, our church family extended our worship beyond our walls and participated in God’s work around the world. Through special offerings received on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday , we raised $ 2000 to support the missionary ministry of Rev. Dr. Tim Turner and his family as they prepare to serve in Tanzania .

The Turners have been called to help strengthen and grow the Church in Tanzania by developing pastoral education pathways and encouraging financial sustainability within expanding congregations. Their work focuses on equipping local leaders, empowering churches, and creating systems that will support long-term, sustainable ministry.

As churches across Tanzania continue to grow, there is a deep need for trained pastors and strong organizational foundations. Through teaching, mentoring, and strategic support, the Turners’ ministry will help ensure that growth is not only possible—but lasting and life-giving for generations to come.

Holy Week reminded us of Christ’s sacrificial love—and together, we responded with generosity and mission. Every gift given is a partnership in sharing the gospel, strengthening the global Church, and bringing hope to communities around the world. ��

Leadership Board - March Updates

Your Leadership Board met this month to continue guiding the mission and ministry of our church. We are grateful for how God is at work among us and are excited to share these updates:

✨ Welcome New Leadership
We are pleased to welcome Rick Marriott to the Leadership Board as part of the Class of 2028 . Rick will serve on the Finance Work Area , and we are grateful for his willingness to lead and serve.

�� Financial Update
Our transition to Simplify Church for financial services continues, and the first financial statements are now available. We anticipate having full budget reports beginning next month.
We are also encouraged to share that our finances remain strong:
• January: Giving exceeded spending by approximately $11,000
• February: Giving exceeded spending by approximately $7,000
Thank you for your faithful generosity and stewardship!

��️ Facilities & Renovations
The Trustees are excited to share that the first phase of the Education Building renovation will begin on Monday, March 23 with foundation work . In addition, upstairs bathroom renovations will begin as soon as supplies arrive. These improvements are an important part of preparing our campus for future ministry and growth.

�� Staffing Updates
The Staff Parish Relations Committee is actively reviewing applications for our three open staff positions . Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as we seek the right leaders for this next season.

�� Pastor’s Report

�� Intentional Growth & Community Engagement
The Board spent time discussing the changing demographics of our area and how we can continue to grow intentionally. Key areas identified for impact include:
• A welcoming atmosphere ��
• Strong, relevant preaching ✝️
• Meaningful music ��
• Vibrant children’s ministry ��

The Board affirmed that we are strong in hospitality and preaching, and that upcoming staff hires will help strengthen music and children’s ministry as we reach new families.

We celebrate the continued momentum in our ministries—from the Serve Fair to Church Work Day, and growing participation in Family Ministries and outreach opportunities. Work Areas met this month and will bring additional updates at our next meeting.

What a blessing it was to see our church family come together to care for our campus! Thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make our Church Work Day such a success. From raking leaves ��, trimming trees ��, and weeding beds ��, to cleaning and refreshing the Sanctuary ✨ , your hard work is already making a difference as we prepare for Easter.

A special thank you to our Prayer Ministry Team �� who faithfully prayed over our campus and buildings—covering every space in God’s presence and purpose.

We are especially grateful to Trustee Leader Darwin Enax ��️ for organizing the day and helping everything run smoothly. Our upcoming Rosenberg Rummage Sale is more than a sale—it’s a mission opportunity. Proceeds will support the Steps of Faith Campaign , helping fund the renovation of our Fellowship Hall, lobby, and restrooms so these spaces can continue to serve our church family and welcome our community for years to come.

There are two main ways to help , and every role makes a difference!

Palm Sunday Celebration

A Morning of Worship and Joy

Join us for a meaningful and memorable Palm Sunday celebration as we begin Holy Week together! On Sunday at 10:00am , our choir will present the powerful Easter cantata, No Greater Love ��✝️. Through moving music and narration, we will journey with Jesus from triumphal entry to the cross, preparing our hearts for the hope of resurrection.

Planning for the next Generation!

Our Women’s Ministry is excited to welcome a very special guest speaker on March 10 : Norma Petrosewicz , an experienced attorney who specializes in estate planning. Norma brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insight to a topic that impacts every family—planning wisely and faithfully for the future.

Norma is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received her law degree from the UT School of Law . She is board certified in Estate Planning, a Certified Public Accountant, and is celebrating the 35th anniversary of her law firm in Richmond, Texas.

This gathering will provide helpful, accessible guidance on estate planning, stewardship, and caring well for the people and resources God has entrusted to us. Whether you have a detailed plan in place or have been putting it off for years, this will be an encouraging and informative time together.

��✨ Preparing our Buildings and Campus for Easter! ✨��

As we look ahead to the joy of Easter celebrations, we invite you to join us for a Church Work Day on Saturday, March 14 . Together, we’ll prepare our church home to warmly welcome guests and celebrate the resurrection of Christ with excellence and hospitality.

We’ll be tackling yard work around the campus ��, cleaning and freshening the Sanctuary ✨, and sprucing up shared spaces so that everything reflects the beauty and hope of the season. There’s a job for every age and ability—many hands make light work!

We’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall at 7:45am for coffee, juice, and donuts ☕��, and begin working at 8:00am . Water will be provided ��.

If you’re able, please bring yard tools such as rakes, hedge trimmers, hoes, blowers, shovels, and the like. Please dress for the occasion and the sun—hats ��, sunscreen ��, and bug spray �� are encouraged.

Come for an hour or stay the morning—every bit of help makes a difference. Let’s serve together as we prepare a welcoming space to proclaim, “He is risen!” ��✝️

Pancake Fundraiser Thank You

Thank you for supporting our campers!

What a sweet morning of fellowship and generosity! Thank you to everyone who cooked, served, donated, and enjoyed pancakes at our fundraiser. Because of you, we’ve raised $764 (so far!) to help send our kids to camp this summer. What an incredible blessing!

If you didn’t get a chance to give—or would still like to help send a child to camp—you can grab a camp scholarship envelope from the bulletin board by the choir room or in the lobby of the Education Building. Camp costs $425 per camper and $350 per adult.

Please return all donations by March 1 .

Every gift makes a difference in helping a child experience Christ in a life-changing way at camp. Thank you for investing in the next generation!

Staffing Updates

We give heartfelt thanks for Associate Pastor Ron Richard, whose faithful leadership has blessed our church in countless ways. Through his leadership in developing both a prayer team and outreach opportunities, his commitment to discipleship in Connect classes, and his gentle presence in pastoral care, Ron has nurtured the spiritual lives of many in our congregation.

Pastor Ron is exploring new ministry opportunities outside of our congregation. His final Sunday will be April 12, when he will preach a farewell sermon and be celebrated with a reception following the service. We celebrate all that God has done through him and look forward with joy to what He will do next. Please join us in praying for Pastor Ron as he continues to serve Christ with grace and passion. We wish him every blessing in this new season of ministry!

Additionally, our accompanist Betty Chen has shared her intention of relocating after Easter and our Praise Band keyboardist Rudy Balibalita has shared his intentions of stepping back as well. We celebrate their many contributions to our community and will send them forward with our well wishes and prayers when the time comes.

The Leadership Board has made the following plans for staffing going forward.

The associate pastor position has been closed. Those funds have been reallocated to new positions.
The Accompanist job description has been updated to include the Praise Band, meaning that the accompanist would contribute to all of the musical offerings in worship. This shift will provide continuity and consistency for our music ministry.
The NextGen Coordinator position has been updated to Director of Family Ministries. The Director of Family Ministries will champion a vibrant, Christ-centered vision for children, youth, and families—raising up volunteers, strengthening Sunday and midweek programs, and creating meaningful opportunities for discipleship, outreach, and spiritual growth. As God brings growth to Rosenberg First, this leader will help build a dynamic and welcoming family ministry that equips the next generation to love Jesus, connect deeply, serve boldly, and reach others with the gospel. This change demonstrates a clear commitment by the Board to grow our children, youth, and family ministry offerings.
The changes in staffing will result in a budget savings of $4,000.

A Season to Grow Together

Lent is a sacred season of reflection, renewal, and drawing closer to Christ—and it’s the perfect time to give a Connect Class a try. Whether you’ve been part of a class for years or have never attended one, this forty-day journey toward Easter offers a meaningful opportunity to grow deeper in faith and in community.

This Lent, we’re offering two engaging study options:

The Faith Class will study Asking Jesus by J.D. Walt. In a world that places a premium on answers, Jesus takes a different approach—He’s all about the questions. What if we pressed pause on our need for more answers? What if we raised our expectations when it comes to asking better questions? There’s a powerful connection between quest and questions. This study invites participants to lean into the questions Jesus asks, discovering how they awaken deeper faith, honest reflection, and a more intimate walk with God.

The Upper Room Class will engage in weekly discussions connected to the Journey of Stones sermon series. Together, they will reflect on Scripture, share insights, and consider how God is shaping their own journey through the Lenten season.

Lent is not meant to be walked alone. It is a time to seek transformation, wrestle with holy questions, and encourage one another along the way. Consider this your invitation to step into a Connect Class this season—you may discover that God is using this journey to shape you in new and unexpected ways.

Ash Wednesday reminds us of our need for God’s grace and invites us into a season of repentance, reflection, and renewal. Whether you are on your lunch break, running errands, or simply seeking a quiet moment with God, this is an opportunity to mark the beginning of Lent in a meaningful and sacred way.

Pancake Fundraiser Volunteers

Let's send our kids to camp!

Following worship on Sunday, February 15, the Youth and Children are planning to host a Pancake Lunch Fundraiser for camp. We have asked the Methodist Men to donate the pancake mix, sausage, butter, syrup, milk, and OJ again. The youth will cook pancakes and sausage and serve the congregation. Parents will be needed for guidance and supervision. The children will serve as hosts and help with clean-up. The meal will be by donation only and the funds raised will be shared between those families and youth who participate. Please mark your calendars and plan to volunteer!

Join us for our 2nd Annual Pancake Fundraiser and get your sugar fix before Lent begins —all while supporting a great cause! This fun, family-friendly event helps send our kids to Rise Up Summer Camp (June 29–July 3) .

This is a donations-only fundraiser— pick your price and give as you feel led. Adding to the joy, our youth will be cooking and our children will serve as wait staff , making this a sweet and memorable morning for everyone. ��

You can also support our campers through the Envelope Wall . Simply pull an envelope and return it with the amount indicated enclosed by March 1 .

Growing Deeper in Prayer

Do you long for a deeper, more intentional prayer life—or find yourself wondering what your next step in faith might be? You’re invited to the Wall Shakers Prayer Workshop , a hands-on, Spirit-led experience rooted in Acts 4:31 : “After they prayed… the place where they were meeting was shaken, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

This workshop is designed for anyone who desires to grow in prayer, explore new ways of praying, or step more fully into God’s work through intercession. Together, we’ll explore different expressions of prayer—including prayers for the needs of the church , spiritual covering for leaders , our meeting place , our community , revival , and spiritual warfare —and discover how prayer shapes both the world around us and the hearts within us.

Participants will learn how to form a Prayer Squadron —a small, committed group that prays weekly and stands together as “wall shakers” for the church and community. We’ll also talk about creating sacred prayer spaces, sometimes called a Boiler Room or War Room , and how intentional environments can deepen focus and expectancy in prayer.

The workshop will guide us into transformational, intentional, and intercessory prayer , reminding us that prayer changes things—starting with us—and that standing in the gap for others is holy, powerful work.

If you’re ready to pray with greater purpose, boldness, and trust in God’s power, this workshop is for you. Come with an open heart and a willingness to grow, and see what God might shake loose through prayer.

Weather Update: Sunday Worship & Office Hours

Online Sunday Worship

After prayerful discussion with our core leadership team , and out of an abundance of caution, in-person worship will be canceled this Sunday due to the impending winter weather event. This decision is intended to help keep everyone safe off the roads and to allow our church buildings to remain freeze-proofed throughout the duration of the storm .

Although we will not gather in person, we will continue to worship together. A pre-recorded worship service will be shared Sunday morning via email, Facebook, and YouTube .

The church office will also be closed on Monday, January 26 , with staff working from home as they are able. At this time, the office is expected to reopen on Tuesday , unless additional updates are shared.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and care for one another. To ensure you receive important and timely updates, we encourage you to sign up for text alerts if you have not already done so. We are grateful for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate this weather together.

Discover Our New Children's Library!

We’re delighted to invite you to explore our new Children’s Library —a warm, welcoming space designed to nurture faith, curiosity, and imagination in children of all ages. This is not a typical children’s library! You’ll find thoughtfully selected resources for every stage of development, from board books and activity books to first Bibles, prayer books , and beautifully illustrated stories that bring the Bible to life.

The collection also includes lesson books to help families read, study, and apply Scripture together in everyday life, along with DVDs, puzzles, and games that make learning faith-filled and fun. You’ll even recognize beloved authors like Max Lucado and Ruth Bell Graham , whose stories are perfect for parents, grandparents, and other caring adults to share with the children they love.

This is a free library —you’re encouraged to take a book, share a book, give a book, or donate a book. Watch the church newsletter for updates as new items are added and the collection rotates with holidays and Bible themes .

The Children’s Library is located in the Fellowship Hall , just past the restrooms in the hallway of the Children’s Nursery wing .

Donations of new or gently used children’s Christian books are always welcome, as are Bible-themed items that could help decorate the shelves or a child’s room. No matter your connection to children—family, friends, or future arrivals—there’s something here for you!

2026 Board RESET

As we begin a new year, our Church Board is pressing RESET—renewing our shared commitment to lead with clarity, faithfulness, and alignment with our church bylaws. The Board plays a vital role in stewarding the ministry and mission of the church, and this year begins with intentional training and organization to ensure we are serving well.

The first Board meeting of the year will take place on January 20 and will focus on training and selecting work areas. Board members will review key organizational documents and then move into their primary areas of service: Finance, Trustees, and Staff–Parish Relations . Following the training, each work area will have dedicated time to begin its work for the year ahead.

In keeping with our values of transparency and shared leadership, Board meetings are open to everyone , unless the Board votes to enter a closed session for specific personnel or confidential matters.

Please continue to pray for the Board as they seek to lead faithfully and wisely in the year ahead, keeping our mission at the center of every decision.

Rise Up Summer Camp Registration

Rise Up Summer Camp: June 30 - July 3

It’s time to register for camp! Visit this link: https://trinitygmc.org/ministries/rise-up-camp/ The church will provide transportation to and from camp for Week 2 - June 29-July 3.

The cost is $425 for campers. A $25 deposit is required. If your family would like to benefit from Methodist Men scholarships and/or camp fundraisers, please enter the code "rosenberg" when you register. Once scholarships and fundraisers are determined, each family will pay the remaining balance to the church and the church will send the full payment to the Conference.

The cost for adults will be covered by the church.
