Following God’s Lead: Pastor Zach Nicholson Shares His Faith Journey

The Women’s Ministry is excited to welcome Pastor Zach Nicholson as our guest speaker for our September gathering! Zach is the Lead Pastor of The Fellowship in South Easton, Massachusetts, and a longtime friend of Jennifer Hartmann.

Zach will share about his personal faith journey—from studying theology at Houston Baptist University and pastoring churches in Rosenberg, Palacios, and Houston, to his current ministry in Massachusetts. His story is a wonderful reminder of how God can lead us through different seasons, places, and opportunities to serve.

Zach and his wife, Crystal, have three children and continue to maintain a home in Pearland, Texas. We look forward to hearing Zach’s story, learning from his journey, and being encouraged by the ways God has worked through his life and ministry.

All women are invited to join us for this special morning of fellowship, encouragement, and inspiration. Bring a friend and come hear where God has led Pastor Zach—and what He may be inviting each of us to discover in our own faith journey.

Volunteers Needed for the Rosenberg First Pumpkin Patch!

The Rosenberg First Pumpkin Patch is almost here, and we need volunteers to help make this year’s pumpkin season a success! Whether you can volunteer for one shift or several, your time and willingness to serve will make a big difference.

Volunteers are needed to help welcome visitors, keep the patch running smoothly, and create a friendly and enjoyable experience for everyone who stops by.

How to Sign Up

Signing up is easy! You can volunteer in either of two ways:

Volunteer signups will be updated each Sunday to reflect the shifts and time slots that are still needed. Be sure to check back regularly if you are looking for an additional opportunity to serve. Families are welcome to signup together and work a shift together!

What Will Volunteers Do?

Pumpkin Patch volunteers help with a variety of tasks throughout their shift, including:

Assisting visitors with selecting their pumpkins
Answering questions and helping guests find what they need
Helping load pumpkins when needed
Supporting the checkout process
Keeping the pumpkin patch clean, organized, and welcoming
Signing off on student service hours when needed

Some light to moderate lifting may be required, so please keep that in mind when choosing a shift. All volunteers will be trained on working the patch, and everything will be provided for. For any questions regarding volunteering to work a shift, please see either Jeri Growns or Stephanie Dade on a Sunday morning.

See You at the Pole 2026: Students and Adults Are Invited to Pray

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, students across the nation and around the world will gather for See You at the Pole™ (SYATP), the global day of student prayer. The 2026 theme is “Come to Me,” based on Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

See You at the Pole began in 1990 with a small group of students praying for their schools. Today, it continues as a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led opportunity for students to gather before school and pray for their friends, families, teachers, schools, and communities.

How Can I Get Involved?

Students:

Wear your Rosenberg First gear if possible.
Show up to the gathering at your school.
Invite a friend to show up with you.

Wear your Rosenberg First gear that day.
Teachers & parents - show up to support students and pray for them
Working adults - stop & spend time praying for students, teachers, & schools at 7am.
Adults - prayer walk a neighborhood nearby a local school. Gather others with you and spend time praying for the schools, teachers, students, and community.

Come celebrate fall with us at a special family-friendly worship service on Sunday, October 11 at 10:00am ! We’re bringing the fun of the Pumpkin Patch into worship with music, Scripture, prayer, pumpkins, and a message that reminds us that God’s light is meant to shine through us . ��

Children will have a special role throughout the service, including prayers, songs, and an interactive pumpkin-carving experience . As we carve, we’ll use the pumpkin to help us think about what we see, hear, say, and do—and how we can let the light of Jesus shine through our lives. ✨��

Family Ministry Card Party

Pray & Go: Write a Letter of Encouragement

Imagine what could happen if children, youth, parents, and families filled an entire table with cards—each one written, prayed over, stamped, and ready to encourage someone.

��One card could brighten a teacher’s day.
��One card could remind a friend they aren’t alone.
��One card could encourage someone in our church family.
��One invitation could be the beginning of a new connection.

As part of Pray & Go, we want to practice turning prayer into action. On Sunday September 27th beginning at 8:45AM, families will gather to write letters, cards, or invitations during the connect hour. Everyone is welcome to come by and spend some time writing a letter of encouragement to someone. Before you write, pray for the person who will receive your card. Ask God to encourage them, meet their needs, give them strength, and help them know His love.

Then write something personal and encouraging. You might:

Thank someone for the way they have impacted your life.
Encourage a teacher or friend who may be having a difficult season.
Let a family member know you are praying for them.
Encourage a church member who faithfully serves.
Share a favorite Bible verse.
Simply remind someone that they are loved and appreciated.

And then—send it! ��

We’ll provide the cards, envelopes, stamps, and pens. All you need to bring is your willingness to pray, write, and encourage. After you have written your card, drop it in a basket either in the fellowship hall or in the sanctuary and we will get it mailed. Cards will be available starting September 20th if you would like to take one home to write and bring it back on Sunday, September 27th.

Everyone is welcome, but families are invited to stay for a combined Connect Time of quiet reflection, family prayer & discussion, time to write letters, cards, invitations. Crafts will be set up as well for the youngest ones. Donuts & coffee will be provided during this hour.

So grab a pen, think of someone who needs encouragement, and Pray & Go!

Rosenberg First at the Parade

Get ready, Rosenberg!

Rosenberg First Methodist Church is excited to participate in the Fort Bend County Parade on Friday, September 25!

As we make our way through the parade, we’ll be spreading the love of Jesus through inviting people to our upcoming Rosenberg First Free-Entry Pumpkin Patch . Volunteers will be handing out invitations along the parade route and inviting our community to come enjoy this fun, family-friendly event.

The parade begins at 9am, so volunteers will need to arrive to the church between 7-7:30am where we will carpool to the float using the church bus. A more accurate arrival time will be communicated closer to the parade date. The parade begins off on US 90A at Fifth Street in Richmond, then continues west on 90A to Rosenberg. The parade route ends at US 90A at Millie in Rosenberg. The parade is approximately 3 miles long. We will have snacks for volunteers on the float, and lunch will be provided after.

We Need You!

We’re looking for volunteers to help make our parade participation a success! You can serve in whichever way works best for you:

Ride on the float and represent Rosenberg First Methodist Church.
Walk alongside the float and help hand out pumpkin patch invitations.
Invite parade-goers to join us at the free-entry pumpkin patch.
Help decorate the float on Thursday, September 24, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

No special experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a heart for connecting with our community! Lunch will be provided after the parade.

The pumpkins are coming to Rosenberg! ��

Pumpkins are coming! Sheepfold will be delivering this year’s pumpkins to Rosenberg First Methodist Church , where they will be ready to become the centerpiece of a fun and welcoming fall tradition.

But we need your help!

Volunteers are needed on pumpkin delivery day to help unload the truck and arrange the pumpkins throughout the patch . Whether you can lift pumpkins, help organize, or simply lend a hand, every volunteer will make a difference as we prepare the patch for the community.

Patch Set-up Day

Time to Set-up the Patch

Fall is officially making its way to Rosenberg, and something special is taking shape for the community!

On October 3 at 8:00 a.m. , Debbie and Paul Turner alongside the Methodist Men will be getting the Rosenberg First Free Pumpkin Patch set up and ready for its first big delivery. Their hard work will help transform the space into a welcoming fall destination where local families can come together and enjoy the spirit of the season.

They will be preparing the patch ahead of the arrival of the pumpkins on October 6 , making sure everything is in place and ready to go. From setting up the area to preparing for the pumpkin delivery, their efforts will help make this community event possible.

The Rosenberg First Free Pumpkin Patch is more than just pumpkins—it's about bringing neighbors together, creating family memories, and giving the community an opportunity to celebrate the fall season together.

Mark your calendars! October 3 at 8:00 a.m. is the beginning of the setup, and October 6 is the big day for pumpkin delivery. We can't wait to see the patch come to life in time for our grand opening on October 10 at 10:00am!

Join us for some family fun in the patch!

Fall is almost here, and that means it’s time for one of our favorite traditions at Rosenberg First Methodist Church—the annual Pumpkin Patch! We’re excited to welcome families from across our community beginning October 10 , with pumpkins, family fun, and plenty of opportunities to connect with one another.

Opening Day: October 10

The pumpkin patch officially opens on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM–7 PM , and we’re kicking things off with a special Opening Day Celebration from 1–4 PM .

Bring the whole family and enjoy an afternoon of free, family fun in the patch, including:

�� Free photo opportunities
�� A balloon artist

There will be something for everyone, so come make some memories, snap some photos, and enjoy the start of the fall season together!

The Rosenberg First Youth Group will also be hosting a bake sale during the celebration to help raise funds for summer camp. Stop by, grab a delicious treat, and support our students as they work toward an exciting summer experience!

Family Prayer Outing

Family Prayer Outing - Sunday September 13th

Join us after worship on Sunday September 13th at Rosenberg First Methodist Church as we pray for our neighbors!

On September 13th., after service ends, families are invited to stay for a special Family Prayer Outing .

We'll meet together in the Education Building for pizza and snacks before heading out into a neighborhood for a family prayer walk.

Together, we will:

Pray over the neighborhood and the families who live there.
Walk the streets together as families and a church community.
Hang doorhangers and flyers on doors as an invitation and reminder that our church is praying for the community.
Look for opportunities to pray for the people, homes, schools, and needs we encounter along the way.

We will carpool together, using the church bus as one of the vehicles.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to worship, pray, serve, and be the hands and feet of Jesus together. This is also a great opportunity to teach children & youth the importance of loving and praying for our neighbors, and how they can do that in their own neighborhoods and at school.

2026 GMC General Conference

Fellowship, Worship, and Decision-Making

The Global Methodist Church General Conference begins August 30 in Johannesburg, South Africa, bringing together clergy and lay delegates from around the world to share in fellowship, worship, and decision-making as they shape the future of the Global Methodist Church.

The General Conference aims to facilitate dialogue on critical issues, provide spiritual renewal, foster collaboration among attendees, and ensure transparent governance. It serves as a vital time for prayer, worship, and discerning God’s will together as a global church.

This historic gathering marks the first time the denomination’s General Conference will be held on the African continent, a powerful affirmation of the Global Methodist Church’s commitment to being a truly global movement. Pastor Wendy will be attending the conference as a delegate and will be out of the office August 27–September 8. Pastor Emeritus Sharon Sabom will also be attending the Conference. While our pastors are away, Pastor Joyce Dunne, a friend of Pastor Wendy’s parents, will lead worship services on Aug 30 and Sept 6.

The church office will remain open during this time for anyone who needs assistance or has questions about church-related matters. For pastoral assistance, you may also contact the church office, and we will be happy to help connect you with the appropriate support.

As we follow along with the General Conference in Johannesburg, we can also join with churches around the world in prayer. We invite you to use the guide and join us in seeking God’s wisdom, guidance, unity, and presence as our global church gathers to discern His will for the future of the GMC.

It’s Almost Pumpkin Patch Time Again!

It’s almost Pumpkin Patch time again! In just two months, the pumpkins will be rolling in, the Patch will be coming to life, and we’ll be welcoming our church family and community for another wonderful season.

The Pumpkin Patch takes many hands to make it happen, and we need volunteers to join one of our five teams! Whether you love organizing, serving, welcoming people, decorating, or spreading the word, there’s a place for you.

Five Ways to Serve

This year, five teams will organize the Pumpkin Patch. Each team is designed so that there is an opportunity to use the gifts God has given you anywhere and everywhere. There’s plenty of work to do before, during, and after the Patch, and we’d love for you to be part of the team! Check out the different teams below:

�� Fort Bend County Fair Parade Team

Our Parade Team exists to joyfully represent our church in the community, build meaningful relationships among team members as we serve together, and warmly invite parade-goers to experience the love of Jesus through our church events and gatherings.

What we do:

Register for the parade
Create the float by recruiting vehicles and drivers and decorating
Organize Parade Day on Friday, September 25

�� Welcome Our New Staff!

We’re excited to welcome three new members to the Rosenberg First staff team ! Each of them will play an important role in helping us create a welcoming, connected, and caring church community.

�� Reagan Beard & Asher Heinemann — AV Coordinators
Reagan and Asher will help ensure our worship services and other events are supported by reliable audio, video, and streaming. Their work helps us create a meaningful experience for those worshiping in person and makes it possible for others to connect with us online. They will officially begin in the coming weeks as we transition to the new cameras and streaming software. They will work alternating Sundays.

�� Maria Kane — Nursery Attendant
Maria will help provide a safe, welcoming, and loving environment for our youngest church family members. Her presence helps parents participate in worship and ministry knowing their little ones are being cared for.

We’re grateful for each of them and the gifts they bring to Rosenberg First. Please take a moment to welcome Asher, Reagan, and Maria and let them know how glad we are to have them serving with us! We will offer a special prayer on Sunday for their new roles!��

�� Wake Up Call: A New Study in Romans��

If the Dear Corinth sermon series left you hungry to dig deeper into Scripture, here's a great opportunity to keep going!

Beginning August 31 , Seedbed's Wake-Up Call will launch a new study through the book of Romans . Wake-Up Call offers short, accessible, biblical teaching designed to help you encounter Scripture and apply it to your daily life. You can receive each day's teaching free by email , or listen through podcast or YouTube —making it easy to fit into whatever rhythm works for you.

The study is led by J.D. Walt , a respected Bible teacher, author, and the founder and "Sower-in-Chief" of Seedbed. J.D. previously served as Dean of Chapel at Asbury Theological Seminary and now serves as a GMC pastor in Arkansas. He has spent years helping people engage Scripture in ways that move beyond simply learning about the Bible toward spiritual awakening and transformation .

Romans is one of Paul's most important letters, exploring sin and grace, faith and salvation, life in the Spirit, and what it means to live as people transformed by Jesus. After spending the summer working our way through Paul's letter to the Corinthians, continuing into Romans gives us another opportunity to hear Paul's teaching and discover how the gospel shapes the way we live.

You don't need a study book, a class, or a big block of time. Just open your Bible, press play, and spend a few minutes listening for what God wants to say to you. �� Each Wake-Up Call centers on Scripture and includes a brief reflection, prayer, and questions for personal reflection.

Whether you followed every week of Dear Corinth or simply found yourself wishing you knew more about the Bible, this is an easy way to keep growing.

God has been on the move!

As we look toward a new ministry season, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the way God is already answering prayers. When we first shared our vision for Intentional Kingdom Growth this Fall , we invited our church family to pray for 13 specific ministry opportunities :

Today, we're celebrating an exciting update— 13 has become 8! ��

God is moving, and members of our church family have already stepped forward to serve. Every "yes" represents another opportunity for children, students, families, and our community to experience the love of Jesus in meaningful ways.

But the story isn't finished yet.

We are continuing to pray for the remaining 8 opportunities God has prepared for the right people. We believe He is already stirring hearts, and we invite you to join us in praying that these individuals would be revealed. If you feel God nudging you to serve, we'd love to hear from you! ��

We believe this season is about more than filling volunteer roles—it's about making room for God to work in and through our church as we grow together and reach our community.

Thank you for praying. Thank you for serving. Thank you for believing that God has incredible things in store this fall.

Leadership Board | July Updates

The Leadership Board met on Tuesday and received updates from several ministry and operational areas as work continues to move forward across the church.

The Finance Team presented the June financial reports to the Board and reviewed the August counting schedule, with Johnnie Cooper and Bill Talasek serving as counters. The Board also received an update on the results of the 2025 audit, conducted by Rick Marriott, Ross Werlla, and Joyce Lamensky.

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) discussed staffing updates, including a review of our new Director of Family Ministries, Mia Yakimow, as well as updates regarding the open Nursery Attendant and AV Coordinator positions.

The Trustees presented an update to the Facility Use Policy, which was approved by the Board. They also provided updates on ongoing Education Building renovations and discussed the financial resources currently available through the Capital Campaign to support this work.

Lay Leader Johnnie Cooper shared an update from Rise Up Church Camp, held June 29–July 3, and invited everyone to attend the Methodist Men's quarterly breakfast on Saturday, August 1, at 8:00 am. Campers will be there to share their experiences and answer questions.

The Board also received the Pastor’s Report, which included a full discipleship plan for the fall. The Board also reviewed the new Children’s Ministry Guidelines and discussed several options for updating and implementing a new Records Retention Policy.

The Leadership Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm to review and discuss matters related to the ministry, operations, and future direction of the church. These meetings are open to all and provide a valuable opportunity to stay informed and connected with the ongoing life and mission of Rosenberg First.

Intentional Kingdom Growth this Fall

�� Playing Our Part in Kingdom Growth��

Jesus promised that He would build His Church. Throughout history, He has done that through ordinary people who simply said, "Here I Am."

At Rosenberg First, we've been praying for God to grow His Kingdom in our community. We've renovated spaces, welcomed new families, strengthened our ministries, and called a Director of Family Ministries to help lead us into this next season. Now it's time for all of us to play our part for the Kingdom.

This fall marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

We're relaunching Children's and Youth Connect Classes using The Gospel Project , a Christ-centered curriculum that helps every generation see how the entire story of Scripture points to Jesus. Children, students, and adults will be studying the same passages each week, making it easier for faith to be lived out at church and at home.

We're also planning to take ministry beyond our campus with three Mobile Movie Nights , bringing fun, hospitality, and conversations about faith into neighborhoods across our community.

And we're preparing to launch MomCo , a ministry designed to encourage and support young mothers through authentic friendships and Christ-centered community. A neighboring Global Methodist Church is ready to partner with us to mentor our new leadership team as we begin.

These ministries aren't simply new programs. They're opportunities to reach families, make disciples, and help people encounter the love of Jesus.

But Kingdom growth happens when God's people each do their part.

Today we're praying for God to raise up:

�� 4 Children's Connect Class teachers to serve on a rotating schedule. Curriculum, supplies, and training will be provided.

�� 3 Youth Connect Class teachers to partner with Mia Yakimow . Curriculum, supplies, and training will be provided.

�� 3 Mobile Movie Night hosts to help coordinate neighborhood events while the church provides the equipment and manpower.

�� 3 MomCo leadership team members to help launch this ministry for young mothers this fall. We anticipate only 7–8 MomCo gatherings between Labor Day and Christmas.

That's just 13 people .

Thirteen people who could help shape the faith of children, encourage students, support young parents, and open doors for new families to discover Christ.

The building renovations are creating beautiful spaces. Now let's fill those spaces with people whose lives are being transformed by Jesus.

Will you pray with us? Pray that God would raise up these leaders. Then ask Him a simple question:

"Lord, what part would You have me play?"

As we journey together through Thom Rainer's Pray and Go: Your Invitation to Become a Great Commission Christian, you're invited to set aside intentional time each week to pray for our church, our neighbors, and our community.

From 9:00–10:00am on Tuesday mornings, September 15 through October 6 , the Sanctuary will be open for a quiet hour of prayer and reflection. Gentle music, guided prayer prompts, and Scripture will create space to listen for the Holy Spirit and deepen your heart for those God is calling us to reach.

The Prayer Team and Pastor Wendy will be available throughout the hour for prayer, anointing, or quiet conversation for anyone who desires additional encouragement. ��

One of the weekly prayer prompts will come from Praying for Your Pastor: How Your Prayer Support Is Their Life Support by Eddie Byun, a resource recommended by the Trinity Conference Prayer Team. Our Rosenberg Prayer Team is inviting the congregation to join them in faithfully praying for our pastors and staff in seven specific ways, believing that a praying church is a church prepared for God's work.

Whether you stay for a few minutes or the full hour, this is an opportunity to slow down, seek God's heart, and deepen your commitment to reaching our community with the love of Jesus.

Our guest speaker will be Michael Kahlenberg from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office , who will introduce the You Are Not Alone (YANA) program. This free service is designed for seniors and adults with disabilities who live alone in Fort Bend County and provides regularly scheduled welfare checks by trained volunteers, offering reassurance, connection, and an added layer of care.

Whether you know someone who could benefit from this program or simply want to learn more about the resources available in our community, you'll find this presentation both practical and encouraging.

As always, the morning will include fellowship, refreshments, a devotional, and updates on upcoming Women's Ministry events.

Help us turn a first visit into a meaningful connection.

Have you ever received a handwritten card that brightened your day? In a world of emails and text messages, a personal note can make someone feel seen, valued, and remembered.

Every week, God brings new faces through the doors of our church. For many, taking that first step into a new church can feel overwhelming. A simple handwritten card lets our guests know they weren't just another visitor—they were noticed, welcomed, and prayed for.

We're looking for volunteers to join our Card Ministry by writing a few handwritten cards to first-time visitors each month. No special writing skills are needed—just a caring heart and a willingness to share Christ's love through words of encouragement.

We've made it easy! The church provides everything you need:

You simply write a heartfelt note, and we'll take care of the rest.

Prayer in the Neighborhoods

Prayer Outreach: Covering Our Neighborhood in Prayer

What if one simple act could remind our neighbors that they are seen, loved, and being prayed for?

We're inviting individuals and families to join us for a neighborhood prayer outreach. Together, we'll walk through our community, praying over each home and leaving a door hanger that lets residents know their house has been prayed over.

This is a quiet, simple way to share the love of Christ with our neighbors. Please do not knock on doors or ring doorbells. Simply pray for each home and hang the provided flyer on the door before moving on to the next house.

Whether you come on your own, with your spouse, or bring the whole family, this is a meaningful opportunity to serve together and make a positive impact in our community. Every prayer offered is an expression of God's love and care for those who live around us.

2026 Trinity Annual Conference Recap

The Power of Personal: Inviting Others to Christ Through Personal Stories

Annual Conference is more than meetings and reports—it is a time to witness God's work through transformed lives, faithful ministry, and a shared vision for the future. Rev. Jason Burnham has shared a recap of this year’s conference. Continue on to hear stories of hope, celebration, and God's continued movement across the Trinity Conference.

LAY TESTIMONIES

One of the most memorable moments of the conference for me came during Friday evening worship as three lay members from across the Trinity Conference courageously shared their personal testimonies of God's grace and faithfulness. Their stories were powerful reminders that God continues to transform lives in every season and circumstance.

SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION THROUGH EVERYDAY EVANGELISM

The practical, encouraging preaching and teaching by Rev. J.D. Walt and Rev. Matt Reynolds blessed the conference. They challenged everyone to rethink evangelism not as a program or event, but as a natural part of everyday life. Through relatable examples and practical guidance, they reminded us that ordinary conversations, authentic relationships, and a willingness to listen can open extraordinary opportunities for the Gospel.

A STRATEGIC VISION FOR THE FUTURE

One of the most significant moments of our gathering was the presentation and adoption of a new three-year strategic plan. More than a static document, it serves as a roadmap for how we will develop and multiply leaders, advance disciple-making, and plant new churches throughout the Trinity Conference.

Leadership Board | June Updates

The Leadership Board met on June 16 and received updates from several ministry and operational areas as work continues to move forward across the church.

The Finance Team reported continued progress in working with Simplify Church to refine and improve the church’s financial reporting processes. In addition, a designated audit team will soon begin conducting the church’s 2025 financial audit to help ensure continued accountability and transparency.

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) shared an encouraging update regarding Mia Yakimow, Director of Family Ministries, who is off to a strong start in her new role. Mia has already begun planning several upcoming events and has developed new Children's Ministry guidelines designed to strengthen and support ministry with children and families at Rosenberg First.

The Trustees provided several updates related to ongoing campus improvements and safety initiatives. Renovations to the downstairs Fellowship Hall restrooms are now complete, and preparations are underway for work to begin in the foyer area. The Education Building roof replacement project is also scheduled to begin before the end of the month. Trustees were pleased with the strong participation in the recent CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training hosted by the Rosenberg Police Department and continue to pursue additional measures to enhance the safety and security of our campus and congregation. They also reported that implementation of a new service agreement with Cintas is nearing completion, which will provide the church with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ongoing maintenance support.

Lay Leaders Johnnie Cooper and Janet Enax shared highlights from their experience attending this year’s Annual Conference at Christ Church in College Station. Johnnie also provided a brief report on his time serving during Week 1 of Rise Up Summer Camp and the impact camp continues to have on students and leaders alike.

The City of Rosenberg's annual Family 4th celebration is just around the corner, and we're excited to be part of this wonderful community event once again!

Held at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, Family 4th brings together families, friends, and neighbors for an evening of fun, fellowship, entertainment, and fireworks as we celebrate our nation's independence.

As a church, we believe that community events like Family 4th provide a unique opportunity to meet people where they are, build meaningful relationships, and share the love of Christ. This year, Rosenberg First Methodist Church will have a booth at the event, serving as a welcoming place where attendees can learn more about our church family, connect with members of our congregation, and discover opportunities to grow in faith and fellowship.��

Our goal is simple: to be present, to serve, and to reach those who may be searching for hope, encouragement, or a church home. Every conversation matters, and every smile, greeting, and invitation can make a lasting difference.

To make this outreach effort successful, we need volunteers to help throughout the event. There are several ways you can serve:

Dear Corinth: A Church Made New

Last Sunday, Rosenberg First began Dear Corinth: A Church Made New, a 10-week journey through Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. As we explore what it means to be shaped by God’s grace, truth, and love, many have asked for ways to engage more deeply with the series throughout the week. In response, a companion reading plan is now available. The plan breaks 1 Corinthians into manageable daily readings, with each week’s sermon passages highlighted in bold. Whether you are preparing for the upcoming message, reflecting on the previous Sunday’s sermon, or seeking a consistent rhythm of Scripture reading, this resource is designed to help God’s Word remain part of daily life, not just Sunday mornings.

There are also several opportunities to connect with others as we journey through this series together. Beginning June 21, the Faith Connect Class will launch a 12-week study, The First Letter to the Corinthians. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Paul’s letter, explore the striking similarities between the challenges facing the early church and those facing Christians today, and discover how God’s saving grace continues to shape His people into a holy and faithful community. This study will complement Pastor Wendy’s summer sermon series and provide additional insight into the themes being explored each week.

The Upper Room Class will also be engaging in weekly discussions connected to the Dear Corinth series, offering opportunities to dive deeper into topics such as Christ-centered wisdom, Spirit-led freedom, authentic community, and the hope of the resurrection.

The Apostle Paul’s message to Corinth remains remarkably relevant today, and this summer offers a unique opportunity for our entire church family to grow together through worship, study, discussion, and daily Scripture reading. Trinity Annual Conference 2026: The Power of Personal

The Trinity Conference of the Global Methodist Church will gather June 4–6, 2026, at Christ Church in College Station, Texas, for its Annual Conference under the inspiring theme: “The Power of Personal: Inviting Others to Christ Through Personal Stories.”

Rooted in Jesus’ words from Mark 5:19 — “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you” — this year’s conference will focus on the transformative impact of sharing personal testimonies of God’s mercy, grace, and redemption.

Conference leaders describe this year’s emphasis as a call for believers to speak openly and humbly about how Christ has worked in their lives. Throughout Scripture, ordinary people became powerful witnesses simply by telling others what God had done for them. Trinity leaders believe the same remains true today.

Rev. Jason Burnham, in announcing the 2026 conference theme, encouraged churches and individuals across the conference to pray boldly and be ready to share their stories wherever God opens the door. “God desires to use our stories for His glory,” Burnham shared.

The Annual Conference will bring together clergy and laity from across Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas for worship, teaching, fellowship, ministry updates, and vision casting for the future of the Trinity Conference.

All women are invited to our next Women’s Ministry gathering on Tuesday, June 9, at 10am.

We are pleased to welcome Cynthia Seamans of Victoria, Texas, as our guest speaker. Cynthia is a Bible teacher, sharing God’s love and wisdom with everyone who will sit still and listen. She has taught all ages—from preschool children to youth to women—for 47 years. She loves people, whether they know God or not, and finds there is nothing more rewarding than opening hearts to His love and destiny for their lives.

She has called Faith Family Church of Victoria, Texas, her church for 27 years. During that time, she has sung on the Sunday Praise Team and led a 60-member choir. She graduated with honors after three years in their Destiny Bible Institute, and then proceeded to teach there. For 27 years, she has taught Ladies Bible Study consistently and worked on numerous projects, musical productions, and Women’s Conferences.

Some of the best years of her life include mission work in numerous countries, including Ukraine, Switzerland, Spain, France, Cuba, India, and Morocco.

Married for 57 years, Cynthia’s husband is a dentist, and she is a dental hygienist. They have two beautiful godly daughters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They have homes in Victoria and in Chester, Texas, still enjoy fishing in Alaska, and work three ranches raising cattle. Best of all, they love watching God’s miracles unfold all around.

Leadership Board | May Updates

The Leadership Board met on May 19 and approved several important projects and initiatives related to ongoing campus improvements and church safety. Due to recurring leaks in the Fellowship Hall roof over the past several months, the Board approved a contract with Texas Roofing & Leak Repair in the amount of $29,963 for full roof replacement. This project will be funded through the Capital Campaign Fund and was previously identified as part of Phase I of the Capital Campaign program. Earlier this year, foundation repairs totaling $18,575 were also completed as part of the same phase. In addition, renovation work on the second floor of the Fellowship Hall is nearing completion, while renovations to the first-floor restrooms are currently underway.

The Board extends sincere appreciation to all who have faithfully contributed toward their Capital Campaign pledges or remain current in their scheduled giving. Continued support is essential as the church prepares to move into the next phases of the campaign, including relocation of the stage and the purchase and installation of updated audio/visual equipment.

Additionally, the Board approved a contract with Cintas for the rental and servicing of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with certified training currently being pursued. The Board also approved CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training, which will be provided by the Rosenberg Police Department as part of the church’s ongoing commitment to safety and preparedness.

The Leadership Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6pm to review and discuss matters related to the ministry, operations, and future direction of the church. These meetings are open to all and provide a valuable opportunity to stay informed and connected with the ongoing life and mission of Rosenberg First.

Throughout Lent and Holy Week, our church family extended our worship beyond our walls and participated in God’s work around the world. Through special offerings received on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday , we raised $ 2000 to support the missionary ministry of Rev. Dr. Tim Turner and his family as they prepare to serve in Tanzania .

The Turners have been called to help strengthen and grow the Church in Tanzania by developing pastoral education pathways and encouraging financial sustainability within expanding congregations. Their work focuses on equipping local leaders, empowering churches, and creating systems that will support long-term, sustainable ministry.

As churches across Tanzania continue to grow, there is a deep need for trained pastors and strong organizational foundations. Through teaching, mentoring, and strategic support, the Turners’ ministry will help ensure that growth is not only possible—but lasting and life-giving for generations to come.

Holy Week reminded us of Christ’s sacrificial love—and together, we responded with generosity and mission. Every gift given is a partnership in sharing the gospel, strengthening the global Church, and bringing hope to communities around the world. ��

We are pleased to welcome Rick Marriott to the Leadership Board as part of the Class of 2028 . Rick will serve on the Finance Work Area , and we are grateful for his willingness to lead and serve.

�� Financial Update
Our transition to Simplify Church for financial services continues, and the first financial statements are now available. We anticipate having full budget reports beginning next month.
We are also encouraged to share that our finances remain strong:

The Trustees are excited to share that the first phase of the Education Building renovation will begin on Monday, March 23 with foundation work . The Staff Parish Relations Committee is actively reviewing applications for our three open staff positions . Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as we seek the right leaders for this next season.

Our upcoming Rosenberg Rummage Sale is more than a sale—it’s a mission opportunity. Proceeds will support the Steps of Faith Campaign , helping fund the renovation of our Fellowship Hall, lobby, and restrooms so these spaces can continue to serve our church family and welcome our community for years to come.

A Morning of Worship and Joy

Join us for a meaningful and memorable Palm Sunday celebration as we begin Holy Week together! On Sunday at 10:00am , our choir will present the powerful Easter cantata, No Greater Love ��✝️. Through moving music and narration, we will journey with Jesus from triumphal entry to the cross, preparing our hearts for the hope of resurrection.

Planning for the next Generation!

Our Women’s Ministry is excited to welcome a very special guest speaker on March 10 : Norma Petrosewicz , an experienced attorney who specializes in estate planning. Norma brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insight to a topic that impacts every family—planning wisely and faithfully for the future.

Norma is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received her law degree from the UT School of Law . She is board certified in Estate Planning, a Certified Public Accountant, and is celebrating the 35th anniversary of her law firm in Richmond, Texas.

This gathering will provide helpful, accessible guidance on estate planning, stewardship, and caring well for the people and resources God has entrusted to us. Whether you have a detailed plan in place or have been putting it off for years, this will be an encouraging and informative time together.

As we look ahead to the joy of Easter celebrations, we invite you to join us for a Church Work Day on Saturday, March 14 . Together, we’ll prepare our church home to warmly welcome guests and celebrate the resurrection of Christ with excellence and hospitality.

We’ll be tackling yard work around the campus ��, cleaning and freshening the Sanctuary ✨, and sprucing up shared spaces so that everything reflects the beauty and hope of the season. There’s a job for every age and ability—many hands make light work!

We’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall at 7:45am for coffee, juice, and donuts ☕��, and begin working at 8:00am . Water will be provided ��.

If you’re able, please bring yard tools such as rakes, hedge trimmers, hoes, blowers, shovels, and the like. Please dress for the occasion and the sun—hats ��, sunscreen ��, and bug spray �� are encouraged.

Come for an hour or stay the morning—every bit of help makes a difference. Let’s serve together as we prepare a welcoming space to proclaim, “He is risen!” ��✝️

Pancake Fundraiser Thank You

Thank you for supporting our campers!

What a sweet morning of fellowship and generosity! Thank you to everyone who cooked, served, donated, and enjoyed pancakes at our fundraiser. Because of you, we’ve raised $764 (so far!) to help send our kids to camp this summer. What an incredible blessing!

If you didn’t get a chance to give—or would still like to help send a child to camp—you can grab a camp scholarship envelope from the bulletin board by the choir room or in the lobby of the Education Building. Camp costs $425 per camper and $350 per adult.

Please return all donations by March 1 .

Staffing Updates

We give heartfelt thanks for Associate Pastor Ron Richard, whose faithful leadership has blessed our church in countless ways. Through his leadership in developing both a prayer team and outreach opportunities, his commitment to discipleship in Connect classes, and his gentle presence in pastoral care, Ron has nurtured the spiritual lives of many in our congregation.

Pastor Ron is exploring new ministry opportunities outside of our congregation. His final Sunday will be April 12, when he will preach a farewell sermon and be celebrated with a reception following the service. We celebrate all that God has done through him and look forward with joy to what He will do next. Please join us in praying for Pastor Ron as he continues to serve Christ with grace and passion. We wish him every blessing in this new season of ministry!

Additionally, our accompanist Betty Chen has shared her intention of relocating after Easter and our Praise Band keyboardist Rudy Balibalita has shared his intentions of stepping back as well. We celebrate their many contributions to our community and will send them forward with our well wishes and prayers when the time comes.

The Leadership Board has made the following plans for staffing going forward.

The associate pastor position has been closed. Those funds have been reallocated to new positions.
The Accompanist job description has been updated to include the Praise Band, meaning that the accompanist would contribute to all of the musical offerings in worship. This shift will provide continuity and consistency for our music ministry.
The NextGen Coordinator position has been updated to Director of Family Ministries. The Director of Family Ministries will champion a vibrant, Christ-centered vision for children, youth, and families—raising up volunteers, strengthening Sunday and midweek programs, and creating meaningful opportunities for discipleship, outreach, and spiritual growth. As God brings growth to Rosenberg First, this leader will help build a dynamic and welcoming family ministry that equips the next generation to love Jesus, connect deeply, serve boldly, and reach others with the gospel. This change demonstrates a clear commitment by the Board to grow our children, youth, and family ministry offerings.
The changes in staffing will result in a budget savings of $4,000.

A Season to Grow Together

Lent is a sacred season of reflection, renewal, and drawing closer to Christ—and it’s the perfect time to give a Connect Class a try. Whether you’ve been part of a class for years or have never attended one, this forty-day journey toward Easter offers a meaningful opportunity to grow deeper in faith and in community.

This Lent, we’re offering two engaging study options:

The Faith Class will study Asking Jesus by J.D. Walt. In a world that places a premium on answers, Jesus takes a different approach—He’s all about the questions. What if we pressed pause on our need for more answers? What if we raised our expectations when it comes to asking better questions? There’s a powerful connection between quest and questions. This study invites participants to lean into the questions Jesus asks, discovering how they awaken deeper faith, honest reflection, and a more intimate walk with God.

The Upper Room Class will engage in weekly discussions connected to the Journey of Stones sermon series. Together, they will reflect on Scripture, share insights, and consider how God is shaping their own journey through the Lenten season.

Lent is not meant to be walked alone. It is a time to seek transformation, wrestle with holy questions, and encourage one another along the way. Consider this your invitation to step into a Connect Class this season—you may discover that God is using this journey to shape you in new and unexpected ways.

Pancake Fundraiser Volunteers

Let's send our kids to camp!

Following worship on Sunday, February 15, the Youth and Children are planning to host a Pancake Lunch Fundraiser for camp. We have asked the Methodist Men to donate the pancake mix, sausage, butter, syrup, milk, and OJ again. The youth will cook pancakes and sausage and serve the congregation. Parents will be needed for guidance and supervision. The children will serve as hosts and help with clean-up. The meal will be by donation only and the funds raised will be shared between those families and youth who participate. Please mark your calendars and plan to volunteer!

Growing Deeper in Prayer

Do you long for a deeper, more intentional prayer life—or find yourself wondering what your next step in faith might be? You’re invited to the Wall Shakers Prayer Workshop , a hands-on, Spirit-led experience rooted in Acts 4:31 : “After they prayed… the place where they were meeting was shaken, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

This workshop is designed for anyone who desires to grow in prayer, explore new ways of praying, or step more fully into God’s work through intercession. Together, we’ll explore different expressions of prayer—including prayers for the needs of the church , spiritual covering for leaders , our meeting place , our community , revival , and spiritual warfare —and discover how prayer shapes both the world around us and the hearts within us.

Participants will learn how to form a Prayer Squadron —a small, committed group that prays weekly and stands together as “wall shakers” for the church and community. We’ll also talk about creating sacred prayer spaces, sometimes called a Boiler Room or War Room , and how intentional environments can deepen focus and expectancy in prayer.

The workshop will guide us into transformational, intentional, and intercessory prayer , reminding us that prayer changes things—starting with us—and that standing in the gap for others is holy, powerful work.

Weather Update: Sunday Worship & Office Hours

Online Sunday Worship

After prayerful discussion with our core leadership team , and out of an abundance of caution, in-person worship will be canceled this Sunday due to the impending winter weather event. This decision is intended to help keep everyone safe off the roads and to allow our church buildings to remain freeze-proofed throughout the duration of the storm .

Although we will not gather in person, we will continue to worship together. A pre-recorded worship service will be shared Sunday morning via email, Facebook, and YouTube .

The church office will also be closed on Monday, January 26 , with staff working from home as they are able. At this time, the office is expected to reopen on Tuesday , unless additional updates are shared.

Discover Our New Children's Library!

We’re delighted to invite you to explore our new Children’s Library —a warm, welcoming space designed to nurture faith, curiosity, and imagination in children of all ages. This is not a typical children’s library! You’ll find thoughtfully selected resources for every stage of development, from board books and activity books to first Bibles, prayer books , and beautifully illustrated stories that bring the Bible to life.

The collection also includes lesson books to help families read, study, and apply Scripture together in everyday life, along with DVDs, puzzles, and games that make learning faith-filled and fun. You’ll even recognize beloved authors like Max Lucado and Ruth Bell Graham , whose stories are perfect for parents, grandparents, and other caring adults to share with the children they love.

This is a free library —you’re encouraged to take a book, share a book, give a book, or donate a book. Watch the church newsletter for updates as new items are added and the collection rotates with holidays and Bible themes .

The Children’s Library is located in the Fellowship Hall , just past the restrooms in the hallway of the Children’s Nursery wing .

Donations of new or gently used children’s Christian books are always welcome, as are Bible-themed items that could help decorate the shelves or a child’s room. No matter your connection to children—family, friends, or future arrivals—there’s something here for you!

2026 Board RESET

As we begin a new year, our Church Board is pressing RESET—renewing our shared commitment to lead with clarity, faithfulness, and alignment with our church bylaws. The Board plays a vital role in stewarding the ministry and mission of the church, and this year begins with intentional training and organization to ensure we are serving well.

The first Board meeting of the year will take place on January 20 and will focus on training and selecting work areas. Board members will review key organizational documents and then move into their primary areas of service: Finance, Trustees, and Staff–Parish Relations . Following the training, each work area will have dedicated time to begin its work for the year ahead.

In keeping with our values of transparency and shared leadership, Board meetings are open to everyone , unless the Board votes to enter a closed session for specific personnel or confidential matters.

Please continue to pray for the Board as they seek to lead faithfully and wisely in the year ahead, keeping our mission at the center of every decision.

If your family would like to benefit from Methodist Men scholarships and/or camp fundraisers, please enter the code "rosenberg" when you register. Once scholarships and fundraisers are determined, each family will pay the remaining balance to the church and the church will send the full payment to the Conference.

The cost for adults will be covered by the church.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to sing in the choir? Choir Music Day is a wonderful, low-pressure opportunity to experience the joy of making music together in a spirit-filled and welcoming environment.

Whether you’re a longtime singer or simply curious, all are invited to come, listen, learn, and lift your voice in praise. We’ll begin after we support the Rise Up Summer Camp Fundraiser. We'll gather at 1:00 p.m. No long-term commitment required—just a willing heart and a desire to worship through song.
