NextGen Coordinator

Position Summary

The goal of the Rosenberg First NextGen Coordinator is to provide spiritual, volunteer, and organizational leadership for the children (birth-5th grade) and youth (6th-12th) programs at Rosenberg First. This position also provides support and leadership in other areas of ministry, working collaboratively with the Rosenberg First team.

Compensation and Supervision

Status: Part-time, Salaried, Exempt
Hours: 15 Hours per week
Salary: $24K
Organizational Relationship and Supervision: Supervised by the Senior Pastor in cooperation with the Staff Parish Relations committee.

Primary Responsibilities

Sunday Morning:

-Recruit, mentor, and schedule volunteers and staff for children and youth classrooms

-Ensure volunteers and staff maintain a safe and clean environment and follow all protocols

-Oversee curriculum selections in consultation with the Senior Pastor and/or the Director of Discipleship

-Recruit, mentor, and schedule volunteers for Busy Bag Ministry

-Recruit, mentor, and schedule volunteers for Children’s Moment

*Plans to take leadership of Children’s Church as Rosenberg First grows

Monthly Events:

-Organize, plan, and execute at least one special event for youth and at least one special event for children each month. Events can occasionally be joint events. Suggested events are game nights, meals, Bible studies, pool parties, concerts, movie nights, sporting events, summer camp, retreats, mission opportunities, etc.

-Contribute to the organization, planning, and execution of church wide outreach events (Celebrate Freedom, Back to School Sunday, Pumpkin Patch, Christmas Eve) by providing NextGen elements

*Plans to take leadership with mid-week programing as Rosenberg First grows

•Love Jesus: By creating opportunities where the NextGen and their families are greeted with the love of Jesus and have opportunities to express it as well.

•Connect with Others: By creating opportunities for the NextGen and families to connect with one another in age-appropriate ways.
•Serve the World: By leading so that the Next Gen are inspired to serve inside and outside the walls of the church; cultivating a strong NextGen program where volunteers are developed, grown, and serving in significant ways.
•Reach the Lost: By exhibiting grace so that new, non-religious, and nominally-committed NextGen and their families are enabled to take their next steps in faith.

Primary Activities

•Weekly: Sunday morning preparation and execution and staff meeting, if possible

•Monthly: special events for children and youth
•Yearly: program planning, camps, retreats, outreach efforts

Qualifications

•4+ years of effective ministry experience
•Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
•Proven ability to lead worship services musically and spiritually
•Proven ability to lead volunteers and develop leaders
