Nursery Attendant

Position Summary

The goal of a Rosenberg First Nursery Attendant is to provide a loving, Christian child-care environment for infants, toddlers, and children in the nursery according to church policy and procedures.

Compensation and Supervision

Status: Part-time, Hourly
Hours: Sunday mornings (8:30-11:30am) with occasional special events
Salary: $15/hr with a guaranteed 2-hour minimum
Organizational Relationship and Supervision: Supervised by the Senior Pastor in cooperation with the Staff Parish Relations committee.

Primary Responsibilities

•Maintains a safe and clean environment, ensuring all protocols are followed

•Treats each family with dignity and respect, welcoming children and parents

•Interacts with children in age-appropriate ways, including conversation, Bible stories, music, and play

•Works in partnership with parents and other nursery staff and volunteers

•Love Jesus: By ensuring children and families are greeted with the love of Jesus and have opportunities to express it as well
•Connect with Others: By creating opportunities for children and families to connect with one another in age-appropriate ways
•Serve the World: By cultivating a welcoming nursery program that enables families to grow and serve
•Reach the Lost: By exhibiting grace so that new, non-religious, and nominally-committed people are enabled to take their next steps in faith

Primary Activities

•Weekly: Sunday morning nursery, 8:30-11:30
•Yearly: occasional special events, dinners, Christmas Eve, Holy Week, etc.

Qualifications

•2+ years of childcare experience
•Knowledge of physical and emotional needs in early childhood
•Proven ability to supervise multiple children at one time
•Proven ability to make decisions about children’s safety and use positive redirection to
ensure safety

Expectations

•Agreement with the Staff Expectations for Part-Time Employees of Rosenberg First
•Alignment with Rosenberg’s First mission, vision, and theology within the Wesleyan Tradition
•Must pass background check, complete Ministry Safe certification (free online course), be CPR/First Aid certified within 30 days of start date (fees eligible for reimbursement)
•Expansion of the position will be related to numeral and financial growth of Rosenberg First
