Leadership Board | July Updates

The Leadership Board met on Tuesday and received updates from several ministry and operational areas as work continues to move forward across the church.

The Finance Team presented the June financial reports to the Board and reviewed the August counting schedule, with Johnnie Cooper and Bill Talasek serving as counters. The Board also received an update on the results of the 2025 audit, conducted by Rick Marriott, Ross Werlla, and Joyce Lamensky.

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) discussed staffing updates, including a review of our new Director of Family Ministries, Mia Yakimow, as well as updates regarding the open Nursery Attendant and AV Coordinator positions.

The Trustees presented an update to the Facility Use Policy, which was approved by the Board. They also provided updates on ongoing Education Building renovations and discussed the financial resources currently available through the Capital Campaign to support this work.

Lay Leader Johnnie Cooper shared an update from Rise Up Church Camp, held June 29–July 3, and invited everyone to attend the Methodist Men's quarterly breakfast on Saturday, August 1, at 8:00 am. Campers will be there to share their experiences and answer questions.

The Board also received the Pastor’s Report, which included a full discipleship plan for the fall. The Board also reviewed the new Children’s Ministry Guidelines and discussed several options for updating and implementing a new Records Retention Policy.

The Leadership Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm to review and discuss matters related to the ministry, operations, and future direction of the church. These meetings are open to all and provide a valuable opportunity to stay informed and connected with the ongoing life and mission of Rosenberg First.
