What do we do when life doesn’t go according to plan? When prayers seem unanswered, circumstances leave us confused, or we wonder why God would allow something to happen?
Inspired by Leslie Weatherhead’s classic The Will of God, this five-week series explores what Scripture teaches about God’s purposes, our circumstances, and the peace we can find when we don’t have all the answers. Together, we’ll discover that faith isn’t about figuring out God’s plan—it’s about knowing God’s character, trusting God’s promises, discerning our next faithful step, and resting in God’s presence.
You don’t have to understand everything God is doing to trust the God who is with you.

When something painful or unexpected happens, it’s natural to ask, “Why would God let this happen?” Does everything that happens reflect God’s will? Did God cause the tragedy, disappointment, or suffering we’re experiencing—or is there a different way to understand God’s work in our lives?

When Life Doesn't Go According to Plan | October 25
What do you do when life doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would? A diagnosis changes everything. A relationship ends. A carefully made plan falls apart. Sometimes the circumstances we face are not what we would have chosen—and we may wonder where God is in the middle of them.
In this message, Pastor Wendy Heinemann looks at Jesus’ experience in Gethsemane, where Jesus honestly brings His anguish before God while continuing to walk faithfully. We’ll explore an important truth: God does not have to cause our circumstances in order to meet us in them.
When life doesn’t go according to plan, we don’t have to pretend everything is okay. We can bring our pain honestly to God, receive the grace we need for today, and trust God with the next faithful step.

Can This Really Be the End? | November 1
When we experience loss, grief, or disappointment, it can feel as though the story has come to an end. But what if what we can see is not the whole story?
In this message, Pastor Wendy Heinemann explores the hope of Romans 8 and what it means to trust God when we cannot yet see how God is working. We’ll remember that suffering does not have the final word, death does not have the final word, and nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.
Especially on All Saints Sunday, we give thanks for those whose lives have shaped our faith while holding onto the Christian hope that our circumstances do not get to write the final chapter. Whatever you are facing, there is more to God’s story than what you can see today.
