Leadership Board | October Update

Meeting | October 20, 2026

The Leadership Board met on October 20 for its monthly meeting and discussed several important updates affecting our church. Financially, capital campaign pledges remain on track, although regular fund income is running behind. Additional financial support is always appreciated, and as the Finance Work Group begins preparing the 2027 budget, anyone who has not yet submitted their commitment card is encouraged to do so as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) completed a four-month employment conversation with the Family Ministry Director and is now developing staff salary recommendations for the upcoming budget.

Several building projects and improvements are moving forward, though we are navigating a few minor delays. The Trustees reported that the carpet replacement for the Fellowship Hall stairway has been postponed by about two weeks due to a shipping error with the materials. However, the contractor for the main Fellowship Hall renovation has been officially selected, and work will begin as soon as our city permit is issued. A new Roland switcher was also approved for the Sanctuary’s audio/visual system to significantly enhance our livestreaming quality across all media platforms, and the Board officially adopted the newly updated Wedding and Funeral Policies presented by the Trustees.

There was also encouraging news about our ministries and outreach. Pastor Wendy shared that the Pray and Go series received an overwhelmingly positive response, leading to plans to open the Sanctuary for members to spend time in prayer and engage with our surrounding community. Dates and times will be announced soon. In addition, Pumpkin Patch sales are slightly exceeding last year's totals. Thank you to everyone who has contributed their time and support to make the Pumpkin Patch a success!

Looking ahead, our annual Charge Conference will be held on Tuesday, December 15, at 6 p.m. This is our dedicated time as a local congregation to look back at the ministry milestones of 2026 and cast a faithful vision for where God is leading us in 2027. We will gather to handle essential local church business, including voting on our 2027 Board nominations and approving upcoming clergy compensation. If you want to know where our church is going and have a direct hand in shaping its leadership, your attendance is incredibly important. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Leadership Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. and plays an important role in the life of our church, helping guide decisions related to finances, staffing, facilities, policies, and ministry. These discussions and decisions help support our church's mission and the community we serve. Board meetings are always open, and everyone is welcome to attend! Coming to a meeting is a wonderful way to stay informed, learn more about the work happening behind the scenes, and become more involved in the life of our church. The Board will meet again on Tuesday, November 17.
