Pumpkin Patch Volunteers
It’s Almost Pumpkin Patch Time Again!
It’s almost Pumpkin Patch time again! In just two months, the pumpkins will be rolling in, the Patch will be coming to life, and we’ll be welcoming our church family and community for another wonderful season.
The Pumpkin Patch takes many hands to make it happen, and we need volunteers to join one of our five teams! Whether you love organizing, serving, welcoming people, decorating, or spreading the word, there’s a place for you.

Here are the important Pumpkin Patch dates:
- Thursday, September 24 – Fort Bend County Fair Parade Float Decorating
- Friday, September 25 – Fort Bend County Fair Parade
- Saturday, October 3 – Patch Set-up
- Tuesday, October 6 @ 4:00 PM – Pumpkin Delivery
- Saturday, October 10 – Patch officially opens
- Saturday, October 10 - Family Fun in the Patch from 1pm-4pm
- Sunday, October 11 – Pumpkin Patch Sunday
Potluck following our special worship service - Friday, October 31 – Patch closes

Five Ways to Serve
This year, five teams will organize the Pumpkin Patch. Each team is designed so that there is an opportunity to use the gifts God has given you anywhere and everywhere. There’s plenty of work to do before, during, and after the Patch, and we’d love for you to be part of the team! Check out the different teams below:
๐ง Fort Bend County Fair Parade Team
Our Parade Team exists to joyfully represent our church in the community, build meaningful relationships among team members as we serve together, and warmly invite parade-goers to experience the love of Jesus through our church events and gatherings.
What we do:
- Register for the parade
- Create the float by recruiting vehicles and drivers and decorating
- Organize Parade Day on Friday, September 25
- Communicate parade volunteer details

๐ง Logistics Team
Our Logistics Team works together to set up, maintain, and clean up the Patch, foster community among volunteers, and create a welcoming space for everyone who visits.
What we do:
- Prepare the Patch for set-up
- Organize Set-up Day (10/3)
- Organize Delivery Day (10/6 @ 4:00 PM)
- Organize Clean-up Day (TBD)
- Provide food and drinks on various days

๐ง Volunteer Team
Our Volunteer Team coordinates volunteer needs with the other teams, recruits and schedules volunteers, supports those serving, and helps establish a strong sense of community among our volunteers.
What we do:
- Coordinate with the Parade, Logistics, and Outreach Teams to clarify volunteer needs
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for:
- Float decorators (church only)
- Parade riders & walkers (church)
- Set-up (church, schools, community)
- Delivery (church, schools, community)
- Patch hours (church, schools, community)
- Clean-up (church, schools, community)

๐ง Outreach Team
Our Outreach Team seeks to share the love of Jesus with every visitor by creating meaningful connections, highlighting the ministries and opportunities at our church, and equipping volunteers to confidently invite others into our church community.
What we do:
- Train volunteers on:
- Policies and procedures
- How to invite people to church
- Engage with visitors
- Create photo opportunities:
- Onsite photo booth
- Professional photographer option
- New measuring-stick prop View measuring-stick examples
- Highlight ministries and opportunities at Rosenberg First
- Support the bake sale and water bottle camp fundraiser
- Family Fun in the Patch Event Planning
- Provide giveaways, including:
- Silicone bracelets
- Little Jesus with orange sash
- Sticker on each pumpkin

๐ง Communications Team
Our Communications Team creatively designs and executes a strategic invitation plan using social media, articles, flyers, banners, and more to engage our community and invite people to experience the Pumpkin Patch and the life of our church.
What we do:
- Strategic invitation planning – Jessica Teich Marketing
- Banners
- Social media images
- Posters
- Shirts
- Newspaper articles
- Flyers for schools, LOL, and Downtown
- Social media
